Ashlea Gillard of Milkie Co has been nominated for the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
Ashlea is a Mother to 3 young boys (4,6 and 10) and what began as a cheery custom cookies Melbourne-based business has grown into something bigger and more exciting: the philosophy that is Milkie Co today. We believe life is about enjoying and indulging in all things sweet, fun, and special to you.
There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Ashlea explains, “Merging work and family doesn’t have to be difficult. It can be as simple as setting up a “kid office” in your workspace so they can “work” too. Even if it’s something small like helping you pack orders or fold boxes, integrating the two areas of your life can be beneficial to the kids as well as yourself.”
It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Ashlea gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise “Take that leap of faith and open your dream business or take that extra week of maternity leave. Whatever you want from life, set goals for both aspects of your life: the motherhood side of you and the business side and stick to them. It’s okay to want it all and have it all.”
