Big changes are happening with US shipping. On July 31st the White House announced that the de minimis threshold will be removed from August 29. Up until now, parcels valued at $800 USD or under could enter the US without any extra fees. With that rule gone, every single parcel will now have a tariff added on top.
For Australia, the tariff is expected to be 10%, which isn’t too bad compared to other countries. The tricky part is that USPS hasn’t confirmed how they’ll actually collect these fees. There’s a chance they may add a flat $80 USD charge to every parcel, no matter the value, or even reject parcels completely if they can’t process the tariff.
Because there’s so much uncertainty, we’ve made the tough call to pause shipping to the US for now. The last thing we want is for our customers to be stuck paying surprise fees or risk having their orders returned.
As soon as we have confirmation that the 10% tariff is the only cost and that USPS has a proper system in place, we’ll happily reopen US shipping. We know this is frustrating and we already miss sending your goodies overseas. Thank you for being patient with us while we wait for clearer answers - we can’t wait to be back in your mailboxes soon. 💌✨
